"CARLO ANCELOTTI has warned John Terry his gladiator days are behind him.
The Chelsea skipper and team-mate Frank Lampard, 32, missed England’s two Euro 2012 qualifying wins because of injury.
And some critics have suggested that the pair will now struggle to get back into Fabio Capello’s team.

Ancelotti believes both will be recalled next month, but feels Terry cannot go on playing while injured, which he has done numerous times in the past for both club and country.
Terry, 29, has admitted he would accept being crippled in later life if he had to put his body on the line to win a football match.
So there was some surprise he sat out this international break with a hamstring problem.
But Chelsea boss Ancelotti said: “I don’t think it’s strange John missed these games.
“He’s almost 30 and he has to have more recovery time than when he was 25 or 26. It’s normal behaviour.
“He needs to have more rest if he wants to stay at the top level for a long time. He needs to do that.
“I don’t like a player who wants to play with injuries, or a player who wants to play when he’s not 100 per cent.
“I can use a Drogba or Terry if they’re not 100 per cent but I need to know.
“Terry took the right decision with England.
“He was not 100 per cent and there might have been a problem if he’d played for them.
“When he said to me that he wanted to use this time to recover and resolve this problem, I agreed with him.
“I think his desire is to play for the national team again but I think this approach can help extend his career.”
Terry will be back to lead his side against West Ham at Upton Park today.
But Lampard still needs a few more days to recover from his hernia operation.
Ancellotti feels the pair will be playing in the next England qualifier against Montenegro next month.
And he added: " It's difficult to find better players than Lampard and Terry in England.
"Next time, they'll be ready to play.
The Hammers will have lost their first four Premier League games if Chelsea win, leaving West Ham boss Avram Grant under pressure.
But Ancelotti does not feel the former Chelsea manager would deserve the sack.
He added: "If West Ham lose I don't think that's a good reason to get rid of him, they're not the only team to lose against Chelsea.""
